The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt open, relaxed and a little unexpected. LR Contracting delivered a tropical boho-chic design built around a navy island, two-tone cabinetry and warm wood tones.

The biggest challenge was hidden above the ceiling. We repositioned the plumbing and ran the plumbing, electrical and HVAC through a custom faux wood beam. The beam looks like a design feature, and it is also what made the open layout possible, with a clean flow from the kitchen into the island.

From there we installed Level 3 quartz countertops, a Blue Marble backsplash with aluminum inlays, under-cabinet lighting, and glass-front cabinets with lighting inside. Wicker pendant lights and a vintage ladder hung from the ceiling for live plants complete the look, and new windows, a rear entry door and sliding closet doors round out the project. This Downingtown kitchen remodel opened up the space and gave it a relaxed, tropical boho feel. The standout is a faux wood beam that hides the relocated plumbing, electrical and HVAC, so the kitchen flows cleanly into the island. Level 3 quartz countertops, a Blue Marble backsplash with aluminum inlays, glass-front cabinets with interior lighting, and under-cabinet lighting finish the cabinetry.
